The process of getting a tattoo almost perfectly mirrors where I am in my life right now.
Getting a tattoo is not the greatest experience, to be honest. You have to lay there for an extended period of time and just take it while someone carves into your skin. It is painful, but you know you’ll get through it and have something really awesome to show for it afterward. Even after the artist is finished, you still have to go through the healing process, but each day it hurts a little less and you get a greater glimpse at how awesome life will be with your new addition.
That is how I feel right now. Kyle and I breaking up is really hard and very painful. But I know I will get through it, and I will have this life experience forever - which I think will be something I can take pride in, much like I take pride in my tattoos.
Each day this will get a little less painful and I will have a little more of a glimpse at this new part of life I am entering into, and how awesome that can be.
